The biopic on PM Narendra Modi was supposed to release on April 11. Starring Vivek Oberoi in the lead, the movie is based on the life of the current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi and is directed by Omung Kumar. The biopic had surpassed a plea in Supreme Court objecting to its release before elections and even the Censor Board cleared it with a clean U certificate. However, a day before the release of the film, Election Commission put a stay on the release stating that it could influence the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. PM Narendra Modi Biopic: T-Series Removes the Trailer of Vivek Oberoi's Next From its YouTube Page and We Wonder Why

At the behest of Supreme Court, a special screening had been held for EC to review the film and deem it fit enough for release during the elections. On April 18, lead star Vivek Oberoi, who also wrote some of the dialogues in the film, was asked about EC's reaction to the film. And he has a very cryptic answer to say!

ANI quotes the actor saying, "Everybody in the EC saw the film yesterday. We asked them, 'how did you like the film?'. Can't tell you their response but we were happy with their answer. The only request is that the film should be allowed to release." PM Narendra Modi Biopic: EC Stalling Release of Vivek Oberoi's Film Attracts Raging Twitter Reactions!

So what does Vivek mean by 'we were happy with their answer'? Does that mean that EC could give a green light to the film, or they are happy with the film itself? If former is the case, why does Vivek need to request for the film to be allowed to release? We might need to wait for further updates from the Election Commission to know the real truth.
