Vivek Oberoi starrerPM Narendra Modi just cannot catch a break. The movie has been under scrutiny ever since the announcement was made a couple of months back. Now, as the movie inches closer to its release, objections against the movie are more noticeable. Today, the Supreme Court heard a hearing for a petition filed by Aman Panwar, which sought a stay on the release of the film, based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, just a couple of weeks ahead of elections in India. ANI also reports that the court asked the petitioner to place on record what is depicted in the movie and what he is objecting to. The next court hearing is due to happen tomorrow. PM Narendra Modi is due to release on April 11, as of now. The court was made aware of the release announcement by senior advocate A M Singhvi, appearing for the Congress activist. The bench said the producer may have come out with such a statement on the release of the biopic on April 11 anticipating that the film would get the certification from the Censor Board. This year has already been quite a ride when it comes to politically charged films. We have already seen the release of The Accidental Prime Minister, and Thackeray. Patriotic movies like Uri, Manikarnika and Kesari were also released in the first quarter of 2019. Smaller budget movies like 72 Hours: Martyr Who Never Died, Battalion 609 also found a release.
