Pati Patni Aur Woh Quick Movie Review: Kartik Aryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday's Film is Funny in Parts
Here's what we think about the first-half of Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar's Pati Patni aur Woh.
Can Kartik Aaryan continue his hit streak with his latest film Pati Patni Aur Woh? Since the super-success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, the actor has been on a roll in his career. Pati Patni Aur Woh is right there in his comfort zone, and giving by how light-hearted fare set in small towns are working at the box office, he can expect another hit here. Giving him company in the film are Bhumi Pednekar as the Patni and Ananya Panday as the Woh. Pati Patni Aur Woh is directed by Mudassar Aziz, who is known for making Happy Bhaag Jayegi and its sequel. Here’s Why Kartik Aaryan Has Not Watched the Cult Classic Pati Patni Aur Woh.
As you might be aware, Pati Patni Aur Woh is a remake of the Sanjeev Kumar starrer by the same name. The premise is nearly similar. The much-married Chintu Tyagi is facing a seven-year itch even in his third year of marriage. Even though his wife Vedhika loves him, Chintu feels some staleness in his life. And then enters the young Tapasya whose attention he seeks, even though he himself is not quite sure what he seeks from her.
Pati Patni Aur Woh's plot has material for all sorts of chuckles, that is if you have not seen the umpteen Govinda films of the '90s. Still, the film manages to raise laughs here and there, mostly for some of the sparkling lines. Kartik, Bhumi and Ananya are well-cast in their roles. Aparshakti Khurrana, as Chintu's loyal friend, steals the show mostly. Overall, a decent first half that uses some funny gags to compensate for its problematic plot.
