Pataakha Box Office Collection Day 2: Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan’s Comedy-Drama Shows Growth, Collects Rs 2.30 Crore
While day 1 collections were Rs 90 lakh, the day 2 collections are Rs 1.40 crore.
Ace director Vishal Bhardwaj's latest venture, Pataakha, opened in theatres on Friday. The movie features Dangal star Sanya Malhotra and TV show Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi actress Radhika Madan playing sisters who are constantly at loggerheads. The opening day figures were quite low and disappointing, given the fact that the trailer of the film looked quite promising. But on day 2, the comedy-drama has shown positive growth. While day 1 collections were Rs 90 lakh, the day 2 collections are Rs 1.40 crore.
The grand two-day total collection of Pataakha is Rs 2.30 crore. The movie needs to maintain the momentum over the next few days if it wants to recover the cost of production. Pataakha will surely get the benefit of the public holiday, Gandhi Jayanti, that is just around the corner.
Our in-house film critic Sreeju Sudhakaran quite liked Pataakha. In his review, he wrote, "Pataakha has its moments, especially in its first half, and the lead cast is superb. Compared to previous Vishal Bhardwaj masterpieces, Pataakha has a lot of catching up to do when it comes to its treatment and impact. And yet, it can surprise you with some unexpected hilarity. Easily, Vishal Bhardwaj's funniest film!"
Well, not every day we see a movie led by two women releasing in Indian cinemas. And Pataakha looks immensely interesting if you go by the trailer of it. So, we urge our readers to give the movie a try.
