While the movie is embroiled in an ugly legal battle, producer and lead actor John Abraham has released the teaser of his upcoming production, Parmanu. The movie is based on the 1998 secret nuclear tests carried out by Indian in Pokhran under the careful observation of the late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Parmanu is directed by Abhishek Sharma of Tere Bin Laden fame and also stars Boman Irani and Diana Penty.

The one minute long teaser showcases the various famous events in the history of our country, including the wars we fought. Aided by a voiceover, it then tells us that one event is forgotten in the pages of history before we are taken to Pokhran and get introduced to John Abraham's dashing army officer along with getting a glimpse of Diana Penty who also plays an officer too. The movie is about their efforts to hide these tests from the eyes of USA and its CIA team.

While the teaser of Parmanu is intriguing, the narration will instantly remind you of Aamir Khan's Oscar nominated Lagaan, whose voiceover (given by Amitabh Bachchan) also speaks of an incident that gets lost in the pages of history.

Parmanu was in news over the legal battle between its co-producers, John Abraham and Prernaa Arora's KriArj Entertainment. John Abraham's production house has terminated their agreement with KriArj, alleging non-payment of dues, while the latter accuses the former of not honouring their commitments and calling the termination invalid. Later KriArj's team filed an FIR at Khar police station against John Abraham for cheating, breach of trust, fraud, misappropriation of funds and copyright infringement.

In retaliation, John Abraham removed KriArj's name from all the promotional material including the posters and the teaser. Parmanu is scheduled to release on May 4, though we are doubtful if that's going to happen.
