Priyanka Chopra found herself at the thick of another controversy when she smoked a cigarette as part of her 37th birthday celebration. The paparazzi pictures of the actress reached Indian fans via the internet who trolled her for smoking despite being asthmatic and a vocal adversary of firecrackers. While a response is yet to come from Priyanka herself on the controversy, her cousin Parineeti Chopra is facing the questions in India on her behalf while promoting her upcoming film, Jabariya Jodi. In a recent interview with Zoom, Parineeti was asked to comment on the whole Priyanka-smoking controversy, and she said, "My answer would be that I don't have the right to speak on it,"

Parineeti, further added, "That's why I don't want to speak about it. It's about my sister so it is a very very sensitive topic for me. I do not want to get into it. I just wish that everybody would stop and think about what could have happened and not just write shit,"

She continued, "It was her birthday. It was the most beautiful birthday in the world. It was the most real birthday in the world. And I really don't want people to speak anything else,"

Here is Priyanka Chopra's picture:

"That was really important. Because we had planned it for months, it was a surprise for her. I couldn't miss it and I am glad I didn't. It was beautiful. It was her first birthday after the wedding. It was just 9 or 10 close family members and it was beautiful," Parineeti concluded.

Priyanka would soon be facing the media when she promotes her next Bollywood film, The Sky Is Pink, which, BTW, is premiering at TIFF 2019 before its Indian release. While the controversy might not be fresh until then, it won't stop the media from asking questions about it. Waiting to hear her side of the story.
