Singer Papon has been a the receiving end of all the backlash that he got for kissing a minor girl from 'The Voice Kids India'. The video went viral in no time and a complaint was filed against the singer. However, the girl, her father and the singer himself came out defending that it was all unintentional and that the camera angle was faulty. Now, in a new turn of events, the singer has stepped down as the judge of the same reality show. In a note on twitter, he said that he will not continue being a judge.

Earlier, in a statement, girl's father said, "Papon sir is a mentor and a father figure to my daughter and has always encouraged her to pursue her dreams. He doesn’t differentiate among the children who are here and gives them equal guidance on pursuing their dreams. What you saw in the video is not intentional. It was just a moment of affection that is being portrayed otherwise. I would request and urge the media to not pursue this further."

Recently, ex CBFC Chief Pahlaj Nihalani told ANI, "Since the video is edited and we are not fully aware of what happened before or after the scene, I will refrain from making any unnecessary comments. However, I feel it is the organisers’ responsibility to ensure their participants’ safety in such cases.”

“I feel such celebrities, who can make children feel uncomfortable or anxious in any manner, should not be invited to such shows at all."

Well, looks like the storm has just started and only time will have the answers to all the questions of the fans.
