Panipat Opens To Poor Occupancy Of 10-15% In The Morning Shows
Panipat gets a slow start in the morning shows and is expected to get better in the evening shows. That will be very necessary for the film to have a good first day total.
Panipat is yet another period drama from Ashutosh Gowariker after the disastrous Mohenjo Daro and the admirable Jodhaa Akbar. The grandeur and scale of the film helped the trailer get rave reviews but the box office hasn't been kind to the film yet. In the morning shows, Panipat has opened to 10-15% occupancy. It might get better in the evening shows and that will be necessary for the film to post a good day 1 total. Panipat was expected to open with at least Rs 6 crore in the kitty but if the trending doesn't improve in the latter part of the day, things might get tad serious for the film. But many are confident that it will get better in the evening with more people making it to the theatres.

Panipat is apparently made at a budget of Rs 100 crore or more and has been released in 1500 screens in India. Given the fact that it is 3 hours long, it might get a bit tiring for the audience to watch such a long film because, in last couple of years, we have become accustomed to quickies.
