Padmavat starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh is facing constant hurdles before its release. The film is all set to hit the screens on January 25 along with Akshay Kumar starrer Padman. However, the makers of this magnum opus are still in a state of confusion as the film might not get released not only Rajasthan but also in Goa now. As per the recent reports, the Goa police recommended it to the government that it should avoid the release of Padmavat as the personnel is all engaged in security work, owing to the peak tourist season.

The letter addressed to the secretary of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar reads, “As per intelligence inputs, no major law and order situation is expected to arise in the state of Goa. However, the ongoing season being of great tourist rush and police forces being engaged in arrangements... we should avoid giving the opportunity to people to agitate at this stage,” as per the reports in TOI.

However, Parrikar told the daily, “We are yet to take a decision.” The letter was forwarded to the government after BJP Mahila Morcha along with three other outfits filed a petition that suggested the film ‘likely to hurt the sentiments of a large section of society.’

Meanwhile, the clash between Padmavat and Padman is another major reason for the makers to slightly get worried. However, when Padman actress Sonam Kapoor was recently asked about this clash, she said that it is a big week and both the films can release in that week, She also added that every film has the right to release whenever they wish and she is happy for the Padmavat makers. It is to be seen how Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus makes it till the end.
