Padmaavat is in no mood to slow down at the box office. The film on its eighteenth day of release on January 25 has collected a total of Rs 245.80 crores. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh has done a magnificent business on its third Saturday adding Rs 6.30 crores. Seeing the craze among fans for the epic-period, one expects Padmaavat box office report to proudly touch Rs 250 crores. And it is to be noted that the film is doing great business despite the release of a big movie like Padman starring Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor this weekend.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to write about the impressive journey of Padmaavat at the box office. He writes, ‘#Padmaavat is back in form on Sat... Witnesses BIG JUMP... Will cross ₹ 250 cr today... [Week 3] Fri 3.50 cr, Sat 6.30 cr. Total: ₹ 245.80 cr. India biz.’ After the film saw a lull collection on Friday, people expected the buzz of Padmaavat to have fizzled out. However, film’s heroine Deepika was quite confident of her latest release’s dream run at the box office.

Speaking to the news agency IANS, Deepika was quoted saying, “As far as my film is concerned, I had said this earlier as well, there is no stopping it. I think it deserves all the kind of love and blessings that we are receiving. I think box-office numbers are again a testament of that and it’s not over yet.” And the lady’s words are proven absolutely right by Saturday’s collection. It needs another five crores to join the 250-crore club.
Meanwhile, Padmaavat has surpassed the lifetime collection of Hrithik Roshan-starrer Krrish 3. The 2013 film has earned Rs 240.5 crores. However, it is unlikely that Padmaavat can overtake Aamir Khan-starrer Dhoom 3 which is next in line with Rs 280.25 crores. Aamir’s Dangal with Rs 388 crores remains the highest grossing Bollywood movie followed by PK (339.50 crores) and Tiger Zinda Hai (339.08 crores).
