Padmaavat is growing its business day by day. After a string of hurdles pelted towards the makers, the film has managed to become a smashing hit at the box office. In just two weeks, the magnum opus entered the 200 crore club beating Sanjay Leela Bhansali's previous period film 'Bajirao Mastani' already. Now, on Day 12, Padmaavat collected Rs 7 crores taking up the total amount to Rs 219.50 crores. Considering that this is the collection of a working day, the amount collected is quite steady. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, " #Padmaavat is ROCK-STEADY... [Week 2] Fri 10 cr, Sat 16 cr, Sun 20 cr, Mon 7 cr. Total: ₹ 219.50 cr. India biz. SUPER-HIT."

The movie has garnered fine volume of appreciation for the performances of the stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. But the actors Jim Sarbh and Aditi Rao Hydari were like surprise packages despite their small roles in the war- drama.

Talking about her role of 'Mehrunisa', Aditi told IANS, "It has been a childhood dream of mine to work with Sanjay sir. I am actually very overwhelmed by the response because Mehrunisa, I knew, has a very special part. Sanjay sir always told me that anyone who read the script always asked who was going to play Mehrunisa. So, I knew it was a small but major role."

On an other front, the Karni Sena who was hell bent on banning the film has surprisingly backed out of their own protests. The organisation now opines that the film glorifies the bravery of Rajputs and hence they won't protest against it anymore! Well, all we can say is better late than never.
