Overjoyed ‘Nana’ Jeetendra Opens Up On Welcoming His Grandson Ravie, Son of Ekta Kapoor
Ekta Kapoor welcomed home her baby boy Ravie Kapoor on January 27.
Yesterday morning, news of producer Ekta Kapoor turning a mother via surrogacy made it to the headlines. It was reported that Ekta had welcomed her baby boy on January 27. Later on, in the evening, the lady confirmed the good news and also revealed the name of her baby- Ravie Kapoor, named after Ekta’s father Jeetendra’s real name Ravi Kapoor. Not only did Ekta thank everyone involved in the process of her motherhood journey, but also gave out a special mention to her doctor. And now, in a conversation with Mid Day, Ekta’s father Jeetendra reveals, “I can die peacefully now as both my babies have their own babies.” He went on, “I was a dada earlier. Now, I have become a nana. My life is complete! Shobha [Kapoor, wife] and I were over the moon when we heard it first. We are looking forward to him coming home."
Ask him about the baby being named after him, he says, “They wanted an astrologically [favourable] name starting with R, and then Ekta thought why not name him after baba?” The letter 'E' was added on the recommendation of their astrologer.
Jeetendra’s son Tusshar Kapoor too went the surrogacy way and welcomed son Laksshya in June 2016. Following closely in her brother’s footsteps, Ekta too chose surrogacy, but not before trying the Intrauterine insemination (IUI) and In vitro fertilisation (IVF) for over a period of seven years. Well, things worked out for Ekta and we’re sure she is a proud Mommy today. Ekta Kapoor’s Doctor Reveals Why the TV Czarina Opted for Surrogacy
When the veteran was quizzed on his children being single parents, his answer was a pleasant surprise. Completely okay with his children choosing not to marry, Jeetendra said, "It doesn't matter whether you are married or single. For me, the idea was that Tusshar and Ekta should have someone to come back home to. A baby is the biggest blessing and responsibility to have. With responsibility comes to passion, love, happiness and a purpose in life. There cannot be a bigger responsibility than taking care of a baby."
Looks like the Kapoor family is all about setting ideal examples to the society. First Tusshar and now Ekta, have managed to break some taboos related to surrogacy and now their father is setting an ideal example of how single parenting is not a bad idea. Kudos to the Kapoors!
