The much-awaited "Odhani" song from Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy's Made in China is finally out and it's not really a worthy remake. Having said that, I am entirely convinced that this song will be a hit party anthem for Navratri this season. Audiences and Garba enthusiasts won't mind embracing this remake for the festival season this year but as a Gujarati myself, I am a tad disappointed with its new composition. Made in China Trailer: Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy's 'Jugadu'Comedy Will Tickle Your Funny Bone (Watch Video).

First things first - when it comes Odhani, you want to see Garba, no matter what (though the original video was equally bad). It was essential for the makers to choreograph a contemporary if not the original Garba sequence for this song, you know just to retain its primary flavour. Bollywood inspired dance steps are actually ruining its entire fun and I ended up criticising the song, even if I didn't want to. Secondly, the remix doesn't justify this gem of a song. Yes, I agree it's quirky but not fun. I had some high expectations from this song when it was played in the background in the movie's trailer, but alas! the excitement was short-lived. Yo or Hell No? Nonetheless, the song will still work courtesy the upcoming Navratri season. Makers don't really have a reason to worry as listeners will lap it up. Now that Odhani has disappointed me slightly, I wonder if I should pin my hopes high on Sanedo - the next Gujarati track from Rajkummar's Made in China. Keeping my fingers crossed!
