As the year approaches its end, IMDB releases its top 10 stars and films of the year. This year's lists are out and there have been some really big surprises there. We had already covered how Ayushmann Khurrana's AndhaDhun has been the top-rated Indian movie of the year. Now it comes to talking about the stars and it is a Bollywood show all the way. And also a woman empowering show too, as it is Deepika Padukone who tops the chart, beating the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. Deepika Padukone who had impressed everyone with a powerful performance in Padmaavat, one of the highest grossers of 2018. She was also in the news for her marriage to co-star Ranveer Singh. Interestingly, neither Ranveer nor her other Padmaavat lead Shahid Kapoor makes it to the list here. Nor does Priyanka Chopra, whose prolific wedding to Nick Jonas ruled the headlines for months. In the second spot of the list is Shah Rukh Khan who will be seen in the upcoming Zero, while the third spot is taken by Aamir Khan. Sacred Games stars Kubbra Sait and Radhika Apte also make it to the list. Ayushmann Khurrana’s Andhadhun is the Highest Rated Indian Film on IMDb in 2018.

In a statement to the media, Neha Gureja, Head of International for IMDB, talked about how Deepika topped the list. She said, "Deepika Padukone’s strong performance in this year’s Padmaavat pushed her into the top spot on the 2018 IMDb Top Stars of Indian Cinema list. Radhika Apte delighted audiences this year, appearing in two of the IMDb Top Indian Movies of 2018 – Andhadhun (which ranked #1) and Padman (ranked #6). Akshay Kumar, the bold protagonist in Padman rounds out the Top Stars list at #10. Apte’s Sacred Games co-star, Kubbra Sait makes her debut on the list this year at #7 with her breakout role in the hit TV series."
