Not Just Ranveer Singh's Simmba, R Madhavan Loses Out on Another Huge Bollywood Project Due To Injury - Read Deets Inside

After back to back scintillating performances in Tamil thriller Vikram Vedha and the web-series Breathe, R Madhavan had got a renewed interest for his his Bollywood innings. There were speculations that he will be playing the main antagonist in Ranveer Singh's upcoming masala entertainer, Simmba. However, while having accepted that he was supposed to be a part of the project, R Madhavan revealed that he is no longer in the project all thanks to his shoulder injury. Simmba is directed by Rohit Shetty and is an official remake of the 2015 Telugu blockbuster Temper, starring Jr NTR.
R Madhavan had tweeted out, "“Hey folks .. So I am a huge crazy fan of Rohit Shetty and his films. As is my son. It breaks both our hearts that I’m not able to be a part of this film because of my injury. I’m well on my way to recovery but this is a huge opportunity and excitement lost.” Well, that's sad, as it would be really have been entertaining to see Madhavan take on a negative role opposite Ranveer Singh.
Now we hear that thanks to his injury, Madhavan has lost another plum project that would have giving him a reunion moment with his Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein co-star Saif Ali Khan. As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, his shoulder injury prompted Madhavan to back out of this supposedly period film that was to be directed by Navdeep Singh. It was training for this movie, that got Madhavan injured in the first place, as he had to take horse-riding lessons. The shooting of the movie, also starring Zoya Hussain and Deepak Dobriyal, had already begun with the first schedule already wrapped up.
It is also learn that the makers have found a replacement in Manav Vij, who had given some terrific performances in Udta Punjab and Phillauri.
