RK Studios Last Ganesh Chaturthi: Ranbir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and Others Bid an Emotional Good Bye At The Last Visarjan Procession (Watch Videos).
The prime reason behind this is the sale of RK Studios. The celebrations at this iconic studios owned by the Kapoors were popular in the city. The studio was one of the oldest, which saw many films being shot here. However, the family took a sad decision of selling the property to Godrej as it was facing huge financial loss. Hence, there is no common place for them to celebrate the fest.
Filmfare quoted the actor saying, "That was the last Ganesh Chaturthi celebration for us. RK Studios hi nahi raha... to kahan karenge? Papa started the tradition 70 years ago with a lot of love for the Trunk God. But now, we don’t have a place where we can hold the celebrations the way we did at RK Studios. We all love Bappa and have immense faith in Him. But I guess, we can’t continue with the tradition anymore."
The Kapoors celebrated the festival with pomp in 2018, as it was the last ganeshotsav at RK studio. Indeed, the fans will miss the pictures and moments from the trademark celebration that brought not just Kapoors but also other stars under one roof.
