We do not have enough horror movies in Bollywood. Well, at least not the ones that are intentionally in the genre. But the dry spell is somewhere near the end as Karan Johar will be presenting two horror movies. One will be his production venture, Bhoot Part 1: The Haunted Ship, starring Vicky Kaushal, which will come out in October. The second will be his directorial for Netflix, Ghost Stories, which is an anthology film. Karan will be directing one of the segments. As per reports, Avinash Tiwary and Mrunal Thakur, have been roped in for Karan's film.  Nepotism can take a well-deserved break. Ghost Stories or Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Ghost? Karan Johar and Netflix’s Fight over Film’s Title Is Hilarious!

Both actors do not have a family-connection in the industry. Mrunal is making quite a splash in the film industry. After her successful stint on TV, she landed an international film, Love Sonia, which was critically acclaimed upon release. She was also seen in Super 30 with Hrithik Roshan and Batla House with John Abraham. On the other hand, Avinash was last seen in Laila Majnu, which was able to gain a cult following. Thankfully, this talented man is finally being recognised by the industry.

Just like their previous outings in Lust Stories and Bombay Talkies, Ghost Stories will have Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibaker Banerjee directing segments with Karan. Zoya's horror segment will feature Janhvi Kapoor, making this her second horror film alongside, Roohi Afza. Anurag's segment will star Sobhita Dhuliapa.

Talking about Ghost Stories, Karan Johar has said, “I have always been mortified to watch the horror genre and have always stayed very far away from any ghost story! So to direct one is not only hugely challenging but also exceptionally exciting! Personally, it’s uncharted terrain and I couldn’t have chosen a better platform and a more eclectic collective to exhibit my fear of ghosts and ghost stories! This one’s going to be a nightmare for this dream team!”
