Rumours about veteran actress Mumtaz passing away of cardiac arrest started doing the rounds when a journalist posted on his Twitter handle that she has passed away and that the funeral will take place in Mumbai. He also added that the actress lived a "lonely life". Of course, the tweet has been deleted now but fans of the actress got really upset with the news. But turns out, it was just a baseless rumour and that the veteran actress is actually chilling with her daughter in Rome, Italy. Tanya Madhwani, Mumtaz's daughter, posted a video recently assuring fans that the veteran actress is in perfect health and is, in fact, going out shopping in a while.

She also posted pictures with her mom in the next post and asked fans to not believe in any of the rumours. She said in the video, "Hi everyone, this is a special video. There have been some rumors going around, that my mother wasn't well etc. and I would like all her fans to know that she is doing brilliantly, it's just a rumor. She is in Rome with me and we are going shopping today to buy some plants for my garden and we will be taking some pictures so that you all can see how fit and healthy she is. So please don't believe anything you read online or read in a paper. It's all just a rumor."
