Gully Boy
Zoya Akhtar (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadakne Do) is directed this real-life inspired 'rags to riches' story of an underdog. Ranveer Singh plays a slumboy who aspires to be a rapper, while his domestic problems bog him down. Alia Bhatt plays his girlfriend, while the movie also stars Vijay Raaz, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Vijay Varma and Kalki Koechlin. The movie has got a very favourable response from the trailers, while also getting a standing ovation at Berlinale 2019, where it had its world premiere.
Hum Chaar
Rajshri's new film is not directed by the big man himself, Sooraj Barjatya, but that doesn't make the film less interesting. Hum Chaar is about friendship and bonding and features four newcomers in the lead. The movie stars Prit Kamani, Simran Sharma, Anshuman Malhotra and Tushar Pandey in leading pivotal roles. Hum Chaar is directed by Abhishek Dixit.
The Wife
Glen Close has an Oscar-nominated role in this movie, directed by Björn Runge. The Wife also stars Jonathan Pryce, and Christian Slater. The movie follows an older woman who questions her life choices as she travels to Stockholm with her husband, who is set to receive the Nobel prize in Literature.
