We are about to bid adieu to 2018 in a couple of weeks and yet the year has still a couple of firebrand movies to come out yet. In Bollywood, we are to get two biggies in the form of Zero (releasing on December 21) and Simmba (on December 28). Both are supposedly solo releases when it comes to competition from the same industry but things are not easy when it comes to the box office. Let's talk about this week's big release, Zero. The movie stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, who is also producing the film. He is also playing a vertically challenged man in Zero who is in love with a paraplegic scientist, but also obsessed with an alcoholic film star. Anushka Sharma plays the scientist, while Katrina Kaif takes the role of the actress. Zero is directed by Aanand L Rai, who is working with all the three stars for the first time. Speculations are rife that Zero is made on a budget of Rs 190 crore, so it has to do really impressive business in the first week to earn dividends. Giving Zero some tough competition is the Kannada film KGF Chapter I. Expecting to win the Northern audiences like other South movies like Baahubali films and 2.0, Yash's Hindi version is being promoted heavily by its producers, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment. Made on the lines of Gangs of Wasseypur, the movie is based on the rise of gangs around Kolar Gold Fields and will be released in two parts. Yash plays the lead in the film. Down South, there are multiple releases that would be hampering the box office earnings of these two movies. In Tamil Nadu, there are five movies coming out, including Dhanush's Maari 2 and Vijay Sethupathi's Seethakaathi. In Kerala, we have Jayasurya's Pretham 2, Fahadh Faasil's Njan Prakashan and Kunchako Boban's Thattumpurath Achuthan.
