Movies This Week: Pokémon: Detective Pikachu and Student of the Year 2

Two big releases from Hollywood and Bollywood are around the corner. Pokémon Detective Pikachu and Student of the Year 2 which will be up on the silver screen on May 9. Karan Johar's Student of the Year 2 the second installment that extends this franchise. Bollywood got three finished products including Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. This one has the super athletic and charming Tiger Shroff as the new student in the batch along with two gorgeous debutants Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey.

The next one is Pokémon Detective Pikachu featuring the Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds giving the voice of the most loved Pokemon Pikachu. Inspired by the famous Japanese animated show Pokémon which was a dream show for a 90's kid. Talking about the box-office prediction, it is obvious that the Karan Johar's film might get much more screens than Pokémon Detective Pikachu keeping in mind the Indian market. However, you never know the hype this Pokemon film might get later on as the hardcore fans of these famous animated hit show would definitely want to watch this fictitious pokemon on the big screen.

Rob Letterman directorial Pokémon Detective Pikachu will bring back the essence and the Nostalgia of the greatest animated show. Watching these crazy Pokemon characters Pikachu, Charizard, Mewtwo. Gengar and name them there are a number of these Pokemon to hunt for. Ryan Reynolds voice behind Detective Pikachu surely raises the quirky quotient. The film could surely turn out to be a crowd puller as we are very much aware of the Pokémon fanbase which is great in India.

Student of the Year 2

Karan Johar's Student of the Year 2 has two fresh faces Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandya marking their Bollywood debut. While Tiger Shroff gets admission in this Karan Johar film. Will Smith's appearance in one of the song is also an element of attraction. Friendship, sportsmanship, love, companionship, and overall an entertaining affair for the movie-goers.

Ryan Renolds last film Deadpool 2 was a huge hit at the box-office. Expectations are sky high for this upcoming film. It would do great business in India and China respectively. Karan Johar's last film Kalank failed miserably at the box-office and also among the fans despite having a stellar cast, With this, Dharma Productions has high stakes on SOTY 2
