Mission Mangal Box Office Collection Day 6: Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan's Multi-Starrer Is Trending Well on Weekdays, Earns Rs 114.39 Crore
Mission Mangal, which opened to good reviews from critics, is expected to end week 1 on a solid note. The film could very well earn around Rs 125 to 130 crore in its extended first week which would be fantastic, to say the least.
After entering the coveted Rs 100 crore club in just five days of its release, Mission Mangal is now faring well on weekdays at the ticket windows in India. Filmmaker Jagan Shakti's directorial venture will in fact soon surpass the Rs 150 crore mark as well since there is hardly any competition at the Indian box office. The multi-starrer movie featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead arrived in cinema halls on August 15 and since then has been getting cash registers ringing big time. The fantasy space drama even passed the crucial Monday test at the box office and then on Tuesday is clocked in another Rs 7.92 crore, bringing its total six-day collection to Rs 114.39 crore. Revealing the updated figures, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on his Twitter timeline, "#MissionMangal is trending very well on weekdays... Should comfortably cross ₹ 127 cr in *extended* Week 1... Will challenge *lifetime biz* of #Kesari in Week 2... Thu 29.16 cr, Fri 17.28 cr, Sat 23.58 cr, Sun 27.54 cr, Mon 8.91 cr, Tue 7.92 cr. Total: ₹ 114.39 cr. India biz."
Further, Boxofficeindia.com has reported, "The drop on Tuesday was very limited at multiplexes as they consolidated after the drop on Monday. The film should cross the 125 crore nett mark in its extended first week. Mumbai and Mysore held up very strongly on Tuesday and even Gujarat did not show much of a drop." Written by R. Balki, Jagan Shakti, Nidhi Singh Dharma, and Saketh Kondiparthi, Mission Mangal was offered to Akshay by Shakti who was the associate director of PadMan. Made on a reported budget of Rs 32 crore, the movie also stars Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Nithiya Menen and Sharman Joshi in the lead.
