Mission Mangal, directed by Jagan Shakti, hit the screens on August 15. The film opened to positive response from fans and celebs and critics in India and globally as well. On the opening day it collected Rs 29.16 crore in India and became the second highest opening Bollywood film. The film continues to run steady despite big releases such as Saaho. Until September 1, Mission Mangal has collected Rs 261.86 crore worldwide. And as per the latest update, it has become the highest-grossing film in Australia.

Akshay Kumar has broken the record of his other films released in Australia that includes Housefull series, Kesari and PadMan. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#MissionMangal is now #AkshayKumar’s highest grossing film in #Australia... Total till 1 Sept 2019: A$ 601,561 [₹2.91 cr; still running]... Has crossed *lifetime biz* of #Housefull series, #Kesari, #PadMan and all #Akshay starrers in #Australia.” He also mentioned, “#MissionMangal remains steady, despite #Saaho juggernaut...
