Director Tigmanshu Dhulia's efforts to complete Milan Talkies and get it ready for release deserves a movie of its own. The movie was to earlier stars Imran Khan as the male lead, before he walked off the film for unexplained reasons. Then there were reports that Sidharth Malhotra and Harshvardhan Kapoor were looked at to play the lead. And then finally, the responsibility fell on Fukrey and Mirzapur fame Ali Fazal to take on the role. Joining him as the female lead in Milan Talkies is the pretty Shraddha Srinath in her Bollywood debut. The actress is quite popular down South for her involvement in films like Vikram Vedha and RichieAli Fazal in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Next Movie! Here’s What the Fukrey Actor Will Play in the Film.

The trailer is out, and it looks to be a blend of Bollywood dreams and racial politics. The promo begins with Fazal's character, whose dad (Tigmanshu Dhulia) is also a filmy guy, spending time in a theatre watching movies and aspiring to be a director himself. Then the love story with Shraddha's character is brought in, as the hero goes to some weird ways to impress the girl. And as is the story with nearly every Bollywood romance, Cupid strikes on both ends.

However, since the film is set in Uttar Pradesh, where romance is looked down upon, her upper-caste family (Sikander Kher, Ashutosh Rana) is against the affair. How this racial drama is going to complement the Bollywood angle is something we are curious to know when the movie comes out. Ali Fazal Confirms Mirzapur Season 2 Plus Two More Hollywood Movies.

It is a beautiful desi romantic love story set in Uttar Pradesh. Ali and Shraddha have done a brilliant job. I am really looking forward to showing the film to the audience. I hope they like it." Milan Talkies will release on March 15.
