#MeToo Movement: Sajid Khan Denies All Sexual Misconduct Allegations in His Reply to IFTDA

Sajid Khan pleads not guilty.

In the wake of the #MeToo movement, Sajid Khan is one of the Bollywood stalwarts who has been accused of sexual misconduct. Many women, including MTV actress Saloni Chopra and Priyanka Bose, have levelled accusations on the filmmaker. The latest update on this case is that Sajid Khan has denied all allegations in his reply to the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA). Farah IGNORES Questions on Sajid Khan's #MeToo Episode.

The IFTDA had sent a notice to the men whose name have surfaced in the #MeToo movement, primarily Sajid Khan and actor Alok Nath. While Alok refused to respond to the notice by the organisation, Sajid chose to respond. In a statement sent to IFTDA, Sajid said, “I apologise to IFTDA if any embarrassment has been caused to the association by the alleged accusation against me. These allegations have not only caused irreparable harm to my career, but more importantly, grieved my mother and sister immensely. At the outset, I deny the complaints levelled against me as stated in your notice. I humbly request you to not to form any one-sided judgment. I am always happy to extend any cooperation to my association.”

Earlier, in their statement IFTDA had said,  “We have scheduled a meeting of IFTDA ICC on Thursday, November 1 at IFTDA office to hear you for the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act enquiry, which is based on the principle of natural justice and the alleged harasser is provided an opportunity before any disciplinary action is taken. Therefore, attend the meeting as scheduled.”

We are now looking forward to how IFTDA goes about this case. Meanwhile, Aahana Kumra has also come out with her #MeToo story which, again, alleges Sajid Khan of misconduct.
