Vinta Nanda, who accused Alok Nath of sexual harassment and rape when the #MeToo movement was gaining momentum in India, has now lodged an FIR against the actor. On Wednesday, Vinta filed an FIR with the Mumbai Police in Oshiwara, reports ANI. Mumbai Police Additional CP Manoj Sharma has been quoted saying, "Oshiwara Police has registered an FIR against Alok Nath under section 376 of IPC (rape) on the complaint filed by Writer Vinta Nanda." #MeToo in Bollywood: Another Actress Accuses Alok Nath of Sexual Misconduct.
It was last month when the #MeToo movement was at it's peak with several women (mostly) from different spheres coming forth to speak up about sexual harassment. Vinta had shared her ordeal on Facebook and Twitter without naming Alok Nath. With an FIR now lodged against him, Alok Nath has an official case to fight. The fight just got tougher and we are proud of Vinta for continuing to fight for herself. Let's see how he responds to the case now.
