After Bollywood actress initiated the #MeToo Movement, several women opened up about the gut-wrenching experience of sexual abuse and assault they had been subject to at work, naming their alleged perpetrator. Recently, when veteran actor Dalip Tahil, who is working on Sudhir Mishra's upcoming directorial, has been offered a role where the actor has to do a rape scene. While the actor agreed to do the scene, he, however, had a prior condition. According to a report in Navbharat Times, the actor initially refused to enact the rape scene. However, he later agreed to do the scene (after the makers convinced him) but only if the actress gives him a written consent, which states that she is comfortable shooting the rape scene and is doing so without any pressure.
Not only the actor demanded a confirmation letter from the girl, but also asked for a visual proof. Reportedly, he asked the actress to record her statement on camera, after shooting the scene. In the video, the actress has stated that she willingly did the scene with the actor. Not just that, she also said stated that she was satisfied with the security measures on the sets.
The #MeToo movement has so far exposed biggies like Vikas Bahl and Sajid Khan, lyricist Vairamuthu, actors Nana Patekar, Rajat Kapoor, Subhash Kapoor, Kailash Kher, Mukesh Chhabra and comedy group AIB, Aditi Mittal, singer Raghu Dixit, among others. Watch this space for further updates.
