#MeToo Movement: Alok Nath’s Accuser Records Official Statement With Mumbai Police

Although no FIR has been registered by the police yet.

One of the biggest actors who has been accused of sexual misconduct is Alok Nath. The actor is popularly known for his adarsh image in pop culture. He has been accused of sexual harassment by several women. The writer-director of one of his '90s TV show has accused him of rape. Lashing back at the accusations by her Alok had filed a defamation case on her. As per a report by Mumbai Mirror, the writer-producer recorded her written statement, against Alok Nath, at the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai on Friday. The same news report also quotes a police officer as saying, “She had earlier submitted a written application. The statement is part of understanding her complaint in detail. She reached the police station around 11:30 am and the exercise lasted around six hours.”

The writer-director's advocate, Dhruti Kapadia, said, “On a recording of the statement, we believe proper inquiry and investigation will continue as we trust our police to do their best for victims like Vinta.”

The #MeToo movement in India is still raging fire. Some of the prominent names who have been accused of being sexual predators are Vikas Bahl, Anirban Blah, Sajid Khan, Nana Patekar.
