The Alok Nath - Vinta Nanda case is probably the most discussed one in the entire #MeToo controversy that embroiled the Bollywood industry. The issue was highlighted when Vinta Nanda accused Alok Nath of rape and repeated sexual harassment in a detailed Facebook post in October 2018. The description was quite horrific and the ones who knew the accused personally were adamant on proving it right. Many women came out in support of Vinta and that encouraged her to come out and file a complaint against him. An FIR was registered against the actor by the Oshiwara Police and the charges were filed under section 376 of IPC (rape). #MeToo in Bollywood: Anu Malik, Sham Kaushal, Alok Nath, Here's the List of All Celebs Accused of Sexual Harassment So Far.

Soon the actor had applied for an anticipatory bail which was rejected by Dindoshi Sessions Court until today. As per the latest update by ANI, Sessions Court has granted anticipatory bail to Alok Nath.  In a post shared by Vinta Nanda, she wrote, “He was an alcoholic, shameless and obnoxious but he was also the television star of that decade, so not only was he forgiven for all his bad behaviour but many of the guys would egg him on to be his worst. My lead female actor was being harassed by him. He would mess with her on the sets and everyone would be silent. When she complained to us, we decided to let him go.” #MeToo In Bollywood: Alok Nath Named & Shamed Again; Renuka Shahane Gives Her Side Of The Story!

While the actor had obviously denied all her allegations, his wife too supported him against Vinta Nanda. Post the FIR, Alok Nath had vanished from the scenario and police were unable to locate him. The Cine and Television Artists’ Association (CINTAA) had also kicked out Alok after he repeatedly failed to show up for his hearings. However, with this latest development in the actor's favour, seems like Vinta Nanda's fight is not over yet.
