The #MeToo movement in Bollywood has taken a legal turn. Actor Alok Nath was recently accused by a writer of a popular TV serial of rape and violence. After he denied the allegations, he even issued a Re 1 defamation notice to her. However, the writer has decided to battle it out legally with the actor. She filed the complaint with the police which was accepted. While hearing of the defamation suit in the court, the court questioned Alok Nath's absence and demanded that he should be present.
“Alok Nath's lawyer asked for the actor's exemption to be present in the court, to which the defence objected stating that he is the main person and needs to be present. The court also objected to his absence and asked him to be present in the next hearing, which is slated to be held on October 25," a source told DNA.
The writer had earlier shared her ordeal in a Facebook post. Post her sexual harassment allegations, a few more women came out to support her and agree to her stance. #MeToo in Bollywood: Yet Another Victim Accuses Vicky Kaushal’s Father, Sham Kaushal of Sexual Abuse.
