The #MeToo movement has escalated in a short span and the repercussions are seen widely. Bollywood has been hit with it, bringing out unexpected names that got accused of sexual harassment. Director Sajid Khan is one of them, who is facing accusations of sexual misconduct by several women. Saloni Chopra was the first one to open the can of worms after which other women including Rachel White, Mandana Karimi, Karishma Upadhyay, Simran Suri followed. However, in the recent notice issued by Indian Film & Television Directors' Association (IFTDA), Saloni's name is missing.
It was Saloni who took the brave step of coming out against the Humshakals director's misbehavior during an audition for the post of assistant director in 2011. Post her shocking revelations, others too joined the bandwagon to reveal the dark truth behind the filmmaker's weird way of taking auditions. He was asked to step down from his upcoming directorial which is Housefull 4. Also, IFTDA sent him a notice for the sexual misbehavior.
