#Metoo campaign has straight away hit filmmaker Vikas Bahl after he was accused of sexual harassment by an ex co-worker. She worked with Vikas in now dissolved Phantom Films which was also helmed by filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena and Vikramaditya Motwane. However, after she declared that she won't take the legal route, Bahl slammed her. But now, during a recent hearing, she filed an affidavit confirming the accusations of sexual harassment, reports TOI.
A report presented by the publication states, "Her legal representative, senior counsel Seervai, told justice Shahrukh J Kathawalla in courtroom no 20, full to the brim with lawyers, commoners and journalists, that his client, despite reluctance to get into the matter, decided to put on oath in an affidavit that she stands by the accuracy of the news reports published so far, and it will add insult to injury if her statements were disregarded or disbelieved by the court only because they were not put on affidavit (on oath) earlier. Realising the consequences of her statements, she put out a three-paragraph affidavit standing by her statements, a signed copy of which was handed over to the court.” #MeToo Movement: Vikas Bahl Slams Sexual Assault Accuser for Not Taking the Legal Route.
The Phantom Films company was recently dissolved after the severe accusations against Vikas Bahl. The movement has also hit several other Bollywood celebs. The campaign was started after Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta accused actor Nana Patekar of sexual misconduct on the sets of 2009 film Horn Ok Pleasss. Post this, other women revealed their #metoo stories not only in from the Bollywood industry but also other industries.
