Mental Hai Kya and Super 30 Clash: Makers of Kangana Ranaut Starrer Release a Statement, Say 'There Will Be No Mud-Slinging'

Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao's Mental Hai Kya has got a new release date and a lot has been said about the reason for postponing the film. Earlier, the film was slated to release on June 21 but now, the makers have shifted the film's date for a month later, July 26. Yesterday, several reports were doing the rounds that the film's release date had been pushed on Kangana's insistence because according to the new release date, Mental Hai Kya would be pitted against Hrithik Roshan's Super 30. Makers of Mental Hai Kya have now released a statement clarifying the reasons for postponing the film. Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures who are producing the film released an official statement on social media sharing the film's new release date.
The statement reads, "A lot is being reported about Mental Hai Kya clashing with another film at the box office on July 26. The shift in the release date is a decision taken after the recommendations from the distributors, trade analysts and top research team, keeping in mind the releases a week before and after this date. We have been advised to shift the release of our movie to July 26, purely for the business prospects."

Addressing the clash with Hrithik Roshan's Super 30, the statement said, "On knowing, that there is already a movie scheduled for a release on that date, we did it all in our purview to ensure that there will be no mudslinging and it will be dignified release. The reports about Kangana being keen on a box office clash with Hrithik Roshan surfaced online because of her earlier decision of releasing Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi on the same date as Super 30's initial release. Although, the Balaji statement did clearly mention that this is a business decision taken by Ekta Kapoor. Mental Hai Kya will now be releasing on July 26.
