Marjaavaan may not have opened to bombastic box office numbers but have managed to keep the theatres alive. The film opened with Rs 7 crore or so, which reached a peak on Sunday with the film pocketing a little over Rs 10 crore. That brought the total to an impressive Rs 24.42 crore in its opening weekend. Trade experts are of the view that the film has earned somewhere around Rs 3-3.5 crore. That may not hurt the film as it has been made at a controlled budget but we wonder if the film will manage to survive the first week if the start of the week is that low.

If reports are to be believed, the film has been made at a budget of Rs 70 crore. If that's the case, the first week will be important for the film to break even.
