Rani Mukerji is back as the fierce cop 'Shivani Shivaji Roy.' She reprises her role of a police officer from the 2014 film Mardaani. In the first installment, she was seen beating the goons blue who were involved in the child trafficking racket. Now she yet again takes upon the ones who are even thinking of harming women. The newly released teaser of the Gopi Puthran directorial just dropped. The film is all set to release on 13 December 2019.

In the teaser, we can see Rani in the police uniform with determination all over her face. The video also shows a few glimpses of her stint in the first installment. Here, she is seen beating up a person powerfully which we assume is the villain of the flick. She also is seen warning someone for touching women in an inappropriate manner. The filmmaker was quoted telling DNA, "Rani as Shivani will be seen in a massive showdown with a 21-year-old villain, who is an embodiment of pure evil. He is a dangerous criminal who targets women." Rani also associated the film teaser's releasers with the auspicious occasion of Navratri. She said, "The film will see a female cop fighting an evil person to end crimes against women. As we all know, Navratri stands for the victory of good over evil across India. Whether it is Goddess Durga defeating the demon Mahishasura or Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana, Navratri’s significance is key to this asset launch.
