It was Nelson Mandela's birthday yesterday on July 20 and Miss World Manushi Chhillar did something that would've surely made him proud had he been alive. Manushi launched the world's first compostable menstrual hygiene pad machine on the 100th birthday of Africa's legendary anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela in his hometown in Mvezo yesterday. Manushi is part of the historic centenary celebrations of Nelson Mandela. The machine aims at changing the lives of underprivileged women in South Africa who did not have access to basic menstrual hygiene all this while. Isn't this a great move by Manushi? We are so proud of her.

When Manushi was competing for the covetous title of Miss World, she had won the 'Beauty and Purpose' title for her topic on female hygiene and health. And look, she has actively started participating helping provide women menstrual hygiene.

As far as Bollywood aspirations are concerned, she recently spoke to PTI about her plans. She revealed, “I sense an actor in me. Being a doctor and an actor is very similar. My father would always tell me, to be a good doctor you have to be a good actor because fifty percent of the patients are cured by the way you make them feel.”
