Manoj Bajpayee's Gali Guliyan and Love Sonia to be Screened at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2018

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne will have its schedule from August 10 to 22.

Manoj Bajpayee should be on the seventh heaven right now as an actor. Two of his movies, Gali Guliyan (In the Shadows) and Love Sonia, are being screened at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2018. Love Sonia, directed by Tabrez Noorani, has already been a festival darling and the movie on human trafficking has received rave reviews from the international critics. The movie also stars Mrunal Thakur, Richa Chadha, Frieda Pinto, Demi Moore, Anupam Kher, Rajkummar Rao and Sai Tamhankar. Love Sonia will open the festival.

Meanwhile, Gali Guliyan is directed by Dipesh Jain and has had its world premiere at the Jio MAMI festival last year. Manoj Bajpayee is the main lead in the film which is a psychological thriller about a lonely and paranoid man who is trapped within his own mind and is losing touch with reality, all the while trying to escape it.  Manoj Bajpayee has also got a nomination for Best Actor for his performance in the film.

In a statement given to the media, Manoj Bajpayee said, "In the Shadows (Gali Guliyan) and Love Sonia both are in the nominations at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and it gives me great pleasure to say that. I am really happy that two of my films have been nominated in several categories and I myself have been nominated for Best Actor. In the Shadows will be releasing in India as Gali Guliyan. For any actor, it is a great achievement. I am very happy that the kind of films that I am doing is creating some kind of a buzz in all the international film festivals and all the award ceremonies and it is very important that in all of this, the filmmakers create a great impact.”

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne will have its schedule from August 10 to 22. Shashi Kapoor’s 1972 film Siddhartha will be screened at the festival to commemorate the late actor’s immense contribution to Indian cinema.
