Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has been finding itself in a lot of controversies these days. It all began with rumours that Kangana Ranaut has strong-armed her way into being the film-director, after not being happy with what the original film-maker Krish has made till date. Krish has previously made period blockbusters in Telugu cinema like Kaanche and Gautamiputra Satakarni, that also received critical acclaim. Following the booting of Krish, Sonu Sood also made an exit from the film, leading to an ugly war of words between him and Kangana. Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika Controversy Prompted Director Ashwini Iyer Tiwari to Take THIS Step For Panga?

It was confirmed that Kangana would be looking at extensive reshoots of the film. The producers are adamant that the movie will make it to the January 26, 2019 release date, thereby clashing with Hrithik Roshan's Super 30 and Emraan Hashmi's Cheat India. However, as per a report in Deccan Chronicle, things are not going their way, with some of the cast members being changed and a producer being shown the door. Manikarnika Controversy: Ankita Lokhande Calls Kangana Ranaut Captain, Even If Sonu Sood Cries Competence Issue!

As per the report, Sujay Kutty, the business head of Zee Studios, has been axed, as it was he who gave Manikarnika the green flag. The reason? The movie's budget spiralling out of hand due to the reports. A source close to the development told the agencies, "It was originally a 10 day re-shoot. But now the film will have multiple changes. Ganesh Acharya is choreographing a song and dance routine with Kangana and Ankita Lokhande. The number is a fancy one designed to bring in audiences for the film. The recovery of such an amount is not that easy, so Kangana is making sure that the film is now, worth the money."

The report further adds that some of the cast members are looking to leave the film, and Kangana wants them replaced as soon as possible.

With all these changes to be made, it doesn't look like Manikarnika, based on the life of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi, might make it to the release date.
