Kangana Ranaut's latest outing Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi seems to be doing decent business at the box office. Though the film is maintaining low figures on weekdays, Kangana starrer should surpass the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office by next week as no big film is arriving in theatres this Friday. Co-starring television actress Ankita Lokhande, Atul Kulkarni and Jisshu Sengupta, Manikarnika released on January 25 and got off to an ordinary start. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to microblogging site Twitter a while back and revealed the updated figures. He wrote, "#Manikarnika is maintaining at lower levels... [Week 2] Fri 3.50 cr, Sat 5.25 cr, Sun 6.75 cr, Mon 2.25 cr, Tue 2.05 cr. Total: ₹ 80.95 cr. India biz. #Hindi #Tamil #Telugu."

While the period war drama had a good first week at the domestic box office, it may not earn big money at the ticket windows this week as Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike is still the first choice for most cinemagoers. Along with Kangana's Manikarnika, Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Thackeray also hit the theatres on January 25, however, the film failed to impress the critics and the audience alike. Despite starring an actor like Nawaz in the lead, the political biopic couldn't get cash registers ringing and was pretty much out of most theatres by the second Monday.
