The upcoming movie Maharaj marks the acting debut of Aamir Khan's elder son, Junaid Khan. The film is set in pre-independent India and revolves around a religious head of the Vaishnav community. Just a day before its release on Netflix, the Gujarat High Court on Thursday (June 13) stayed the release of the film following a plea made by a Hindu group who claimed that the film hurts the community's religious sentiments. Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, Junaid Khan's debut film is produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of YRF Entertainment. Maharaj also features Jaideep Ahlawat and Shalini Pandey in key roles. Maharaj: Junaid Khan's Debut Film Is Inspired by 1862's 'Maharaj Libel Case Trial', Here's All You Need to Know About the Real-life Legal Drama.
