While Tiger Shroff's Baaghi 2 was a huge hit in 2018, one of the most criticised factors about the movie was Jacqueline Fernandez's special dance appearance. The Sri Lankan beauty performed to a recreated version of the popular song of Madhuri Dixit from Tezaab, Ek Do Teen. However, even since the promo of the song came out, the Baaghi 2 team has been getting flak for 'maligning' another yesteryear classic for titillation.
While the debate has cooled down now that the movie is out, there was an interesting development around it. Some reports mentioned that Jacqueline had tried to contact Madhuri Dixit to know of her feedback about the song, the Dhak Dhak girl never reverted to her message. Due to this, there were speculations that Madhuri wasn't exactly happy with the song, so she preferred silence.
However, in a recent media interaction during the trailer launch of Bucket List, Madhuri finally broke her silence on the song. Pinkvilla quoted her saying, "There is nothing wrong in remaking. I, myself, am doing the remake of 'Paisa Hee Paisa' song. You can't say it is a bad thing to do. It is cute. It is an iconic song so they want to make it different but with this song people were very attached so nobody wanted to see, you can't blame the makers."
As for Jacqueline, Mads had this to say, "I love Jacqueline Fernandez. I love the way she dances, she is so cute."
While we are glad that Madhuri had opened up about the whole Ek Do Teen controversy, we do wonder if she had played quite safe with her response.
