If Stree made you laugh and scare with this demonic presence, now comes Lupt that drops the gags to frighten the hell out of you. Jaaved Jaaferi plays the lead in this horror-thriller that also stars Vijay Raaz (another common factor that Stree and Lupt share; Raaz had a cameo in the former), Niki Walia, Karan Aanand, Meenakshi Dixit, Rishab Chadha and Rishina Kandhari. The movie is directed by Prabhuraj, who has also written the script. The trailer is out, and it promises enough spooks while also breeding familiarity.

So Jaaved Jaaferi, who is quite choosy with his roles, is playing a businessman who goes on The Sixth Sense mode - he sees ghosts everywhere. Only in his case, these ghosts aren't out seeking his help, but to torment him for some reason. As a result, he suffers from insomnia and takes a holiday with his family for taking the stress out. And then with how most of the horror films go by, their car breaks down, they meet a mysterious stranger (Raaz) and all hell breaks loose.

Lupt has an intriguing trailer for sure, but some of the elements feel borrowed from other movies. However, it benefits from the presence of Jaaferi and Raaz. The movie is going to release on October 5, clashing Aayush Sharma's Loveratri and Ayushmann Khurrana's AndhaDhun.
