Luka Chuppi Box Office Prediction: Will Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon Deliver Their First Hit Together in the Rom-Com Genre?

Last year, Kartik Aaryan delivered a huge blockbuster in the form of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. The romantic comedy co-starring Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh was a sleeper hit that went on to become one of the highest grossing films of 2018. And now he is back with yet another rom-com - Luka Chuppi. This time the talented actor has teamed up with Kriti Sanon who was missing from the big screen last year. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film is basically about live-in relationships but with a twist. In the movie, Kartik plays a reporter who falls in love with Kriti's character and even proposes for marriage. However, before taking the big step, the two decide to live-in together. But things go awry as Kartik's family joins them in this live-in arrangement. What happens next forms the rest of the story. While the trailer of the film received a positive response on social media, the music has also been a talking point ever since the makers dropped the first song. Overall, Kartik and Kriti's film has created good buzz and hence everyone is expecting that film will do well at the box office.

But the question is  - will it have a two-digit opening? Will Luka Chuppi suffer at the ticket windows because of its clash with Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Sonchiriya? Well, the film may not open with two-digit figures but according to trade experts, Kartik's film should mint between Rs 5 to Rs 6 crore on day 1. As for Sonchiriya, it's a completely different genre and hence its target audience will also be different from that of Luka Chuppi. With the good pre-release buzz and promising lead pair, Luka Chuppi has chances of performing well at the ticket windows. And if the story impresses the audience then who knows maybe Kartik will end up with one more hit in his pocket and will become 'THE' face of rom-com genre.  So let's wait and watch if that happens or not!
