Salman Khan's recent production, LoveYatri, was all about Loving Your Family, I mean, launching his brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma, the husband of Salman's youngest sister Arpita. Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, the movie also marks the debut of model Warina Hussain. LoveYatri (which was earlier titled LoveRatri) came out on October 5, to very negative reviews. The film also failed to impress at the box office too. While Salman Khan may have a huge box office pull, it would be very stupid of him to think that his mere name would draw his fans to watch a film, instead of good content and direction. I hope that LoveYatri would be that eye-opener, that moment of truth for the actor and he realises that there is a lot more to a film to be a success that just Salman Khan (who doesn't even bother to appear in LoveYatri; instead letting Sohail and Arbaaz Khan make cameos). Nepotism Doesn't Rock Always!

LoveYatri has already got off on a bad note ever since it was announced, all because Salman was launching his brother-in-law. In these times, when Bollywood is being called out for its nepotistic nature, this move didn't go down well with many, leading to LoveYatri being seen in a negative light, much before the film came out.

And If You Do, Chose Better Actors

To be fair, it is Salman Khan's money and he can do what he can with his and launch whoever he pleases. The only issue is Salman has a knack of launching and promoting non-actors in his productions, from Daisy Shah, Athiya Shetty, Sooraj Pancholi to Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain. If you really want to launch them, at least make them attend acting workshops. Now that Salman is launching Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl (Mohnish Bahl's daughter) in a movie soon, let's hope he listens to our advice.

Stop Sticking to Love Stories as Launchpads

It has been a cliched idea to launch newcomers in love stories. Salman tried it twice through his production house, with Hero and now LoveYatri and both films failed. So it would be advisable for Salman Khan to now try a different genre with his next production that involves debutants.

Make Original Content

Some of his recent productions, Hero and Tubelight are remakes of other films. LoveYatri might call itself an original film, but if you have seen it, you would agree it is a potpourri of other Bollywood films like DDLJ, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Namastey London and others. So instead of making Xerox copies of other movie's scripts, use some good money to hire good writers. Salman Khan may pull of a bad movie, but can't expect the same from his khandaan members.

Bring Better Film-Makers

Instead of making minions direct your films, why not rope in someone who actually knows how to make films? Some director who can work around the inadequacies of your newcomers and make a good film around him. Hopefully Salman Khan's upcoming production featuring Pranutan and Zaheer Iqbal could change that as it is directed by Nitin Kakkar of Filmistaan fame. Kakkar has also made Mitron, which was also a decent effort.

Let's hope that Salman Khan give some more attention to his future productions, even if he plans to launch any of his other relatives in them!
