We were the first ones to tell you that Shah Rukh Khan has made a generous contribution to the Kerala flood relief fund. It would have gone anonymous had not Resul Pookutty, the Oscar-winning sound designer from Slumdog Millionaire, tweeted about it. Resul has tweeted, "Thank you so much @iamsrk me personally and the people of Kerala are indebted to you for your generosity and quick action...respect (sic)" To which, Shah Rukh Khan replied, "@resulp Sir, it’s the Duty & Dharma of each one of us to stand by our brothers & sisters in times of need. May Allah bless each & everyone in Kerala." King Khan indeed, at least from the heart!
While it was not sure how much SRK has donated, as per a tweet from Congress politician, Salman Nizami, Shah Rukh Khan has donated to the amount of Rs 5 crore. Using SRK as an example, Nizami took a dig at PayTM founder Vijay Shekhar for only contributing Rs 10K (despite being India's youngest billionaire) and putting out a self-congratulatory tweet about it (that he later deleted over trolling). Check out Nizami's tweet below -
Shahrukh Khan didn't tweet,
Shahrukh Khan didn't brag,
Shahrukh Khan didn't go to media.
Shahrukh Khan donated 5 crore for Kerala flood victims- silently. Something @Paytm head shud learn- Charity is not Busineect
