64th Filmfare Awards 2019 just happened with fine performances, stylish appearances and accolades. Celebs like Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao were some of the celebs who received the accoladed at the big night. However, Laila Majnu actor, Avinash Tiwary is super unhappy with Filmfare for not rewarding him for the same movie as a 'debut lead'. Filmfare Awards 2019: Twitterati is Mighty Pissed Off With the Results! (Read Tweets).
In a series of tweets, he wrote, "At the risk of sounding like a cry baby... #LailaMajnu is my debut film as a Lead. I hope it puts to rest any doubt about it. If this isn't the criteria for nomination, many nominations over the years are invalidated... including the winner this year. Okay, I am a cry baby!!!" In one of his tweets, he also wrote, "Ask them why @filmfare decided to ignore me...I am very aware that none of this makes any difference but if I stand for empowering others to speak their mind & against what is not just. I SHOULD FIRST STAND FOR MYSELF." Check out the tweets here:

For the uninitiated, Laila Majnu stars Avinash and Tripti Dimri were seen in the romance drama directed by Sajid Ali, presented by Imtiaz Ali. The film received good reviews by the critics but did not fare well at the box office.
Speaking of Avinash's tweets, the actor who is disappointed that he did not get the award for his 'debut' as the main lead, he was, in fact, earlier seen in a movie known as 'Tu Hai Mera Sunday'. Hence, Laila Majnu cannot technically be his debut film. Well, at least, the jury can claim so. Earlier, when Vicky Kaushal was snubbed by the award ceremony for his flick, Masaan, the reason given was his presence in the film 'Bombay Velvet'. He missed out the award as Masaan was technically his debut movie. Although he did not receive it then, he is a proud owner of so many awards as of now.
