Lahore, 1947: Is Aamir Khan's Next Production With Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi Based on This Novel by Dr Asghar Wajahat?

After Gadar 2's blockbuster success, Sunny Deol will be starring in a film backed by none other than superstar Aamir Khan. AKP (Aamir Khan Productions) took to their official social media account today and shared a statement mentioning that the flick is titled Lahore, 1947. However, other details related to the project has not been revealed yet. The said movie will be helmed by ace filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi. Case in point, in January 2023, Santoshi had confirmed to ETimes that his next will be with Sunny Deol which will be inspired from acclaimed playwright Dr Asghar Wajahat's Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai book. "I was interacting with Asghar Wajahat, he's a very respected writer and playwright. I am doing a film based on his play based on his play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai," he had told the portal. Lahore, 1947 Announced:

Elaborating on the book, it's based on the story of a Muslim family that migrates from Lucknow to Lahore and is allotted a haveli vacated by a departing Hindu family. FYI, Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai novel is also available on Amazon at a decent price.

Meanwhile, Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol have previously worked together and churned superhits namely Ghayal, Damini and Ghatak. Also, this will be Aamir Khan's second time collaborating with Santoshi, as the two have earlier worked on Andaz Apna Apna. Indeed, the trio seems to create a riot at box office soon.
