Kriti Sanon Posing With Giraffe Taxidermy in Controversial Cover Photo Leaves Everyone Angry and No Amount of Explanation Can Do the Damage Control Now
If the magazine photo was not enough, Kriti shared a behind-the-shoot video of the photo shoot, which showed taxidermies of several animals including giraffes and polar bears.
Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon is everyone’s most hated celebrity on the social media these days. If you’re wondering what the young film star did to earn such wrath, you have to take a look at her recent photo shoot with Cosmopolitan India. Kriti who is fashion magazine’s cover star for August 2018 edition is seen posing with giraffe taxidermy, which has led to a massive outrage in the digital space. Fans are calling out both Cosmo India and Kriti Sanon for their highly callous attitude. Meanwhile, seeing the anger among masses, the Dilwale girl stated the taxidermy being ‘all fake’ and that she is ‘an animal lover’. But we doubt if her explanation will calm the people down. Cosmopolitan India shared a picture from their latest photo shoot with Kriti Sanon, which took place at Aynhoe Park, London. It shows the actress in a high-neck black top from HM with metallic fringe pants from 431-88 posing with giraffe taxidermy hanging from the wall, which quite frankly looks outrageous. But probably the think-tank behind the shoot did not find it offensive and posted it on their Instagram page. However, they kind of foresaw the uproar as they gave out details on taxidermy in their caption for the picture. Suhana Khan on Vogue August’18 Cover is Nepotism in Your Face.

It reads, “PS: Aynhoe Park features taxidermy, hundreds of years old, most from museums. Taxidermy is the art of preserving an animal that died of natural causes, for academic purposes. The giraffe featured here is floating (not hanging, heavens no!) with balloons on its back. An art installation, in what is possibly one of the eclectic yet most majestic mansions in the world.”
“PPS: Cosmo loves, no, is obsessed with animals. We were, possibly, the first magazine in India to ban the featuring of fur, three years ago. No animals were harmed before, during, or after this shoot. We may be guilty of watching too many puppy videos during work hours, though,” it further states.
Massive Online Outrage Against Kriti Sanon and Cosmopolitan India
Nevertheless, no amount of ‘right’ description proved to be satisfactory. One user writes, “Animals cannot be props. Whoever’s idea was this would have thought hanging him/her self. Sad to see u so heartless @kritisanon” as another commented, “This is not right. A very disturbing picture.” A Kriti Sanon fan was highly hurt by the actress’ as he writes, “How can you be so cruel..even if its stuffed..its a bad presentation..@kritisanon how can you even agree to pose for this”.
Many slammed the magazine and vowed never to buy their copy. A commenter wrote, “I can't believe you guys could be so insensitive. Never again am I picking up a Cosmo magazine. This is sickening.” There was probably not a single positive comment on the post with everyone lashing out at the actress and the magazine.
Behind-the-shoot Video of Kriti Sanon with Cosmopolitan India
If the magazine photo was not enough, Kriti shared a behind-the-shoot video of the photo shoot, which showed taxidermies of several animals including giraffes and polar bears. Seeing Kriti pose by these lifeless animals is discomforting for sure. After facing a lot of brickbats, Kriti Sanon clarified her stand on the entire controversy in her conversation with The Quint. She said, “It was a normal photoshoot in a palace kind of hotel in London; the decor was in the wildlife zone. It’s all fake. I am an animal lover.” Sorry Kriti, but the internet is not in a mood to buy your justifications.
