Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon's Luka Chuppi enjoyed a decent run at the box office and was hugely appreciated by viewers and praised by critics alike. The movie that deals with live-in relationships was a rom-com and the male protagonist was hugely credited for its big success. Many tagged Kartik as the sole reasons for this film's success and a major reason for bringing in the audience. However, Kriti Sanon would beg to differ in this case. She thinks it's an unfair practice and actresses should receive their due credits. In her recent interaction with a daily, the actress revealed she's glad that the conversation about female leads getting due credits has started. Move Over Malaika Arora, Kriti Sanon's Throwback Picture from the Maldives in a Blue Monokini is Too Hot To Handle.

When the daily asked her to react on Kartik getting all the credit for their film's success, she said, "This business of overlooking the leading lady has been going on for a while and it's so unfair. I am glad this conversation is finally happening. It's logical to talk about only the male protagonist when the leading lady doesn't have a lot to do, but when they are both carrying a film on their shoulders, the credit should be equally shared. Everybody deserves a mention." We wonder what Mr Aaryan has to say about this. Game of Thrones Season 8: Sophie Turner Opens Up About Pay Disparity, Says Kit Harington was Paid More Than Her.

Earlier Arjun Kapoor had slammed a publication for ignoring the female leads in their 'male-dominated' headlines. After the pay-gap debate, the issue is to give the due credit to female leads and it's time industry abolishes this practice. Speaking about the gender-based pay disparity in the industry, the Panipat actress said, "Remuneration should be in sync with two things - your role in the film and your capacity to pull in the audience. There have been instances in the past when actresses have been paid more than their hero. For me, money is important, but never the reason to do a film. The script, my character and the crew are the key considerations." Kriti has only joined the list of many actresses who have previously spoken about these issues prevalent in the industry.
