Koena Mitra Gets Convicted in a Cheque Bouncing Case, Sentenced to Six Months in Jail
Troubles are brewing in Koena Mitra's life after she gets sentenced to six months of jail in a cheque bouncing case. The case against the actress was filed by Poonam Sethi after Koena failed to return Rs 22 lakhs she borrowed from her.
A case was registered under Koena Mitra's name and she has been reportedly convicted in the same. A report in Mumbai Mirror states that a certain Poonam Sethi had filed a case against the Bollywood actress after the latter's cheque was not accepted by the band and bounced. As per the same report, the actress had borrowed a sum of Rs 22 lakh from Poonam Sethi. During the repayment of the same, Koena gave her a bounced cheque of Rs 3 Lakh. However, things took an early turn when Koena failed to return the desired sum and Poonam eventually had to file a case against her in the court. During the court hearing, Koena assured that her cheques were stolen and the complainant was in no position to lend her such a big sum. Reacting to these allegations, Koena in her conversation with the tabloid said, "The case is totally false and I have been framed in the matter." She further revealed that she's going to challenge the Court's recent verdict.
